Cupcake Wars

Every month at Michaels we do some sort of dessert war in honor of the month. Our most recent challenge (which I had forgotten to be a part of) was in honor of Elvis's birthday with an array of peanut butter, banana mixed type cupcakes! This last month being Halloween was a perfect chance to make Halloween cupcakes! The creepier the better...Here are a few pictures of the most recent and past cupcake wars. Given November is a pie war - I will update on the amazing pies we all get to try in honor of thanksgiving!

THE COMPETITORS 

My first cupcake wars - zombie vanilla spice cupcakes with cream cheese brains frosting

Recipe for Cream Cheese Frosting:

2 packages of cream cheese - softened - use electric mixer and beat cream cheese for 2 minutes on medium-high or until well blended


Add 2 cups of powdered sugar - mix until well blended


add 5 tablespoons of unsalted butter (butter must be  very soft and added by tablespoon while mixing on high)

add 1.5 tablespoons of vanilla.


Voila!
